GIFTED GAVIN

As you may know already, Gavin was selected by his teacher last month to be tested for the Gifted Program in his school district. We are VERY PROUD to announce that Gavin is now a proud member of an elite group of children in the Gifted Program! (FYI: A score of 97% or above on the test was required to qualify for the program.) There are roughly 5,000 students in his school district. Less than 200 students were selected to be tested, & only 49 of those students qualified for the program. SO, this is quite an honor!

The Gifted Program will provide him with accelerated classwork/homework assignments to keep him challenged & ensure that he is steadily progressing. He will be able to stay in his own class/grade level & he will meet with a special teacher once a week. The Gifted Program offers fun family field trips & outings, in which we can meet other families with Gifted children & enjoy learning experiences together. He is also eligible to attend special programs offered at ASU & participate in an Academic Fair in the spring. He will be a member of the Gifted Program until he graduates high school.

He is very humble about all of this. He was surprised that he passed the test! BUT, he did tell me that he is looking forward to attending a "prestigious" college someday! :O)
